| Modi to sue Kochi IPL team for defamation: Reports |
|
In a new twist to the controversy over the IPL Kochi team, IPL chairman Lalit Modi is now planning to sue the team for alleging that he had offered $50 million to them to withdraw from the race, according to media reports.
On Wednesday, Shailendra Gaikwad, CEO of the Kochi franchise, had said that they were offered $50 million by Modi to withdraw from the Kochi team.
However, Modi had “rubbished” the charge saying, “Are they mad? Who will offer them what they say.. Rs 200 crore? I will take legal recourse.” “I am awaiting the clippings (in which Gaikwad had made allegation). Once I have that, I will serve them legal notice... possibly tomorrow,” he said.
